Double Enduro1 Runner-Up Results for Mikael Persson at Home GP of Sweden
Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Mikael Persson delivered a standout ride on home soil at round three of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, finishing second in Enduro1 on both days and narrowly missing an overall podium on Saturday. Securing his best results of the season, Persson successfully moved up to second in the Enduro1 championship standings. Teammate Jamie McCanney faced a challenging weekend in Skovde but posted improving results to hold on to fifth place in the Enduro1 rankings.
Opening his home race in style by going fifth fastest on the Friday night Super Test, Mikael Persson maintained his speed and the pressure on his rivals by delivering 10 more impressive test results on Saturday’s day one. Topping the opening Extreme Test, Persson etched his name into the history books with Triumph’s first-ever overall test win. Marking his best performance of the season so far, Persson powered his TF 250-E to second place in Enduro1 and fifth in EnduroGP, with just four seconds separating the Swede from an overall podium result.
Feeling confident after his strong performance on Saturday, Persson put in competitive times throughout Sunday and felt right at home in the Swedish terrain. Matching his day one results, Mikael once again claimed the second spot on the Enduro1 podium and claimed fifth overall to mark Triumph’s most successful EnduroGP round so far. Moving up to second in the Enduro1 standings, Persson will look to continue his strong run of form and close the gap to the current leader, Josep Garcia.
The GP of Sweden proved challenging for Jamie McCanney, despite a positive start to the weekend with a ninth-place result in Friday’s Super Test. Still regaining full confidence after his pre-season injury, the Manxman dug deep through two gruelling days of racing to finish sixth in Enduro1 on Saturday and fifth on Sunday. Holding on to fifth in the championship standings, Jamie now aims to make the most of the two-month break before round four in Wales to continue building momentum with the team.
Next up on the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship calendar is both Triumph and Jamie McCanney’s home race at the GP of Wales from August 1st-3rd.

“That’s my home race done at the GP of Sweden! I’ve had two really great days finishing second in class and fifth overall. I pushed as hard as possible, even when the rain was making it difficult to stay on pace. I’m super happy overall and looking forward to the GP of Wales. We have a break now for a few weeks, and the team will really focus on building momentum ahead of the second half of the season.”

“So that’s the weekend wrapped up here in Sweden. I had a slightly better day today, but still nowhere near where I want to be. I’m going to continue working hard over the break between now and my home race in Wales so we can come out swinging there in front of the British fans.”
